Philippians 4:6 ……… Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
This scripture verse and the reference to Matthew 6:25-34 mentioned in the Gist Video this week, clearly show us that if we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and put our faith in Him, there is no need for us to be anxious about anything.
We can make our prayer requests to God with thanksgiving in the full assurance of faith, believing that He will answer our prayers. The revelation of this truth is gloriously liberating.
Of course, the root of this revelation is that God has given us the assurance that He wants to give us what we ask for. Therefore, we ask knowing that He has told us what to expect. Let me explain; faith comes by hearing God. That means we build our faith on the foundation of what God has said to us personally.
Right now we are in the process of selling Kilcreggan House. This is taking longer than we had hoped. However, the good Lord has illuminated many scriptures and He has spoken prophetically to us to affirm to us His will for us to sell the House. For that reason, with thanksgiving, we can praise God in advance for the answer to our prayers because our faith is in what God has said.
We are in a spiritual battle. Our enemy, Satan, does not want us to move into the new thing God has for us but, the battle belongs to the Lord and we are on the winning side. Even although we can become ‘battle-weary’ the will of God will be done.
Fear and anxiety oppose faith but faith is much more powerful. We trust in God and His word. We rejoice in answered prayer.
Lord Jesus, thank you for giving us faith and victory. Amen

Mankind was Made to Worship Video
Mankind was Made to Worship

Psalm 96:9 ……Worship the LORD in the splendour of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
Our human spirit wants to worship. When God created mankind, He created us with a spirit inside that desires to worship. In The Garden of Eden, before the Fall, we worshipped God; after the fall we worshipped anything.
Satan deceived mankind and took our authority. Until we give our lives to Jesus Christ, we are under satanic authority. The Devil does not want us to worship God, therefore, he leads us into the counterfeit worship of other things to appease the desire of our human spirit to worship.
Only when Jesus is our Lord and we are born again by the Holy Spirit will we, once again, worship God.
Lucifer was the worship leader in heaven and he knows how to create worship that will sound and feel amazing. However, it is counterfeit worship that is deceptively distracting mankind into shallow and soulish worship that will never fully satisfy the deep longing of our spirit-man to worship in Spirit and in truth.
Earthly worship leaves us frustrated and empty and many often turn to drugs, sex and/or alcohol in a vain attempt to bolster the sham of ungodly praise and adoration. Only when our worship is God-ward and Christ-centred; only when our spirit and the Holy Spirit sing heavenly duets in glorious harmony will we ever find spiritual fulfilment.
Lord Jesus, we choose to worship only you. Amen

You are Called and Anointed Video
You are Called and Anointed

Isaiah 61:1 …….. The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
The video that accompanies the written Gist this week looks at how God showed me that I was anointed for His call on my life. I hope that it will be useful in helping you to know for certain that God has called and anointed you.
The anointing of God is what enables us to do what we have been called for. The anointing takes the stress out of fulfilling His purposes. It over-rides human effort so that we do not need to try to succeed in our own strength.
Just like oil lubricates the moving parts of an engine, the anointing takes away friction and reduces the risk of overheating from our dynamic Christian lives. The anointing of the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus in our ministry. The anointing allows us to flow with His blessing upon us.
God has called and anointed every Christian believer. What a privilege. Not only has He called and appointed us, but He has also anointed us and, in doing so, He has affirmed that we are called to our ministry.
The anointing is the tangible evidence of God in our lives and as we live in obedience to the will of God, Jesus will be seen and Christ in us will be evident to all.
Lord Jesus, thank you for calling and anointing me. Amen
